Ume is a type of flower (Plum) which resembles Sakura (cherry blossom), the Japanese considered Ume one of the luckiest symbols. Because this knot is hard to untangle it is widely used to symbolize a strong bonding, and therefore is  used for celebratory events such as weddings.  The White Biwa shaped pearls used in these earrings have beautiful luster and fine rose overtone.
